1. Senior Research Fellow (Three) - WALK-IN-INTERVIEW

Qualifications MSc. (Botany/Chemistry/Medicinal Plants/Pharmacology)

with 2 years experience -or M. Pharma. Desirable (i) Experience in literature search, retrieval,  scientific writing, dissemination of information relating to medicinal plants (ii) Diploma/Degree in computer applications Age Below 35 years. Salary Rs. 18,000/- pm (fixed) + HRA Job Requirements Literature search, retrieval and dissemination of information relating to medicinal plants/products, employing digital and traditional sources, compilation of information, preparation of reviews/monographs etc. General information/instructions The posts are purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. The maximum duration of the both the project is upto 31-3-2012. The appointment, are terminable with one-month notice from either side. The selected candidates will have no claim for regular appointment under ICMR. Benefits of Provident Fund, CCA, Leave Travel Concession etc. are not admissible. No TA/DA will be paid for attending interview, joining or termination of the services. Age upper limit is as on the date of interview. Age relaxation in case of SC/ST/OBC as per rules. Candidates possessing experience in work relating to medicinal plants/natural products shall be preferred. The interested candidates possessing the above qualifications alongwith (i) Six copies of biodata for each position (if appearing for more than one position) (ii) certificates and testimonials in original and one attested copy of the same, may report for interview to the Head, medicinal plants unit as per schedule given below: August 05,2011 Reporting time 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

2. Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

MSc/M.Tech. in Microbiology/Bioinformatics or related fields

Candidates should have excellent academic performance, and practical experience in microbiology techniques. In addition, knowledge of bioinformatics (programming in perl) would be preferred but is not essential.

3. Reports of previous project work done

(3) Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
 M.Sc. in Marine Geology/Applied Geology/Geology (Walk-in Interview) 
Candidates with M.Sc. in Marine Geology/Applied Geology/Geology/ESRM having at least 55% (50% in case of SC/ST/PH) marks may appear for walk-in interview in the chambers of the Vice-Chancellor on 28.07.2011 at 11 am to work as JRF in time bound research project titled “Coastal Processes and Hazards in the Coastal Zone of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi Districts - An Integrated Approach through Field Measurements, RS and GIS Techniques” sponsored by the Ministry of Earth Sciences, New Delhi. Preference will be given for NET/SLET/GATE qualified candidates or those having research experience in RS & GIS applications. Those who have appeared for second year M.Sc. (IV Semester) examination may also appear for the interview. 
Fellowship amount: Rs. 12,000/- p.m. + HRA during the first two years & Rs.14,000/- p.m. + HRA for the remaining period of the Project. Duration: Three years or earlier, Age: Less than 30 years.
