Walk-In Interview for the posts of Junior Research Fellow
on 15 Sep 2011 at DTRL, Matcalfe House, Delhi After attaining the status of a full-fledged laboratory in December 1981, DTRL is actively engaged in terrain evaluation studies for meeting diverse needs of our armed forces. The vision of the lab is to become a technological leader in producing high resolution terrain intelligence products for Defence Applications. In this endeavour, DTRL is working for development of reliable systems for characteristising terrain by employing modern techniques and systems to exploit the satellite data resources for varied applications. In our ongoing efforts relating this, DTRL invites applications for the following 07 vacancies of Junior Research Fellows:

(1) JRF (Remote Sensing & GIS) - MSc or equivalent in Remote Sensing(RS)/ RS and GIS/Geomatics with First Division - 3 Posts

(2)JRF (Geology) - M.Sc or equivalent in Geology/ Geography/ Applied Geology with First Division -
2 Posts

General Conditions:
1. Only candidates who have completed the course and awarded degree/ provisional certificate are eligible to apply. However, the candidates appearing for final year B.Tech/M.Sc are also eligible to apply and are required to submit the proof of completion of course/provisional certificate on the date of interview.
2. The candidates may be allowed to register for Ph.D with any University/Institution during the tenure of fellowship.
3.Eligible candidates may register by forwarding the application form duly completed as per Annexure-II to director@dtrl.drdo.in on or before 06th Sep 2011. Application form can be download from the website www.drdo.gov.in
4. The registered candidates can appear for a walk-in-interview at 0930 hrs on 15.09.2011 at DTRL, Metcalfe House, Delhi-110054 and should carry a hard copy of the application form alongwith the testimonials.
5. Candidates will be required to produce all certificates/testimonials, community certificate, if applicable, in original during interview. They must also bring a set of attested Photocopies of all testimonials along with two recent passport size photographs (other than the one pasted on the application form)
6. The tenure of the fellowship will be initially for a period of two years and based on performance, it may be extended for 3rd and 4thyear if required.
7. The offer of fellowship does not under any circumstances confer on the candidates any right for absorption in DRDO.
8. Candidates working in Govt/Public sector undertaking / Autonomous bodies should produce no objection certificate to attend the interview.
9. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview or for joining if selected.
10. JRF’s are offered a monthly stipend of Rs. 14,000/-pm + HRA and other facilities admissible as per rules.
11. The age limit for all the above posts is maximum of 28 years as on the date of the interview. The age is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST and by 3 years for OBC candidates.

Age Limit: 25 years as on the last date of receipt of applications, relaxable as per GOI orders in the case of SC/ST/Physically handicapped and OBC etc. Age relaxation will be considered for meritorious female candidates.
Stipend15,000/- per month (Consolidated)
Tenure:Two years from the date of joining and not extendable under any circumstances. Performance will be reviewed once in six months. In case, the performance is not satisfactory, the Internship will be terminated with one month’s notice or one month’s stipend in lieu thereof without assigning any reason. The Intern may also terminate the Internship before the expiry of the tenure by giving one month’s notice.
General Conditions
a. Duly signed application should be submitted on plain paper as per Application Format mentioning Advertisement number, Position code, Full name, Date of birth, Age as on 30/08/11, Sex, Category (SC/ST/OBC/PH), Father’s name, Full correspondence address, E-mail ID, Academic qualifications any other relevant information. A passport size photograph of the applicant should be pasted on the top right corner of
the application. Attach attested copies of all relevant certificates and testimonials.
b. Applications should be addressed to ‘The Director, National Geophysical Research Institute, Uppal Road, Hyderabad – 500 007. The last date for submitting the application is 30/08/2011 and late received applications will not be considered. The cover should be superscribed as “CSIR Diamond Jubilee Research Interns Awards”
c. Selection will be based on overall academic records and/or performance in a written examination (if required) and interview. No TADA will be paid for attending the interview.
d. Unsigned applications shall be rejected.
e. The Intern shall have no claim for further extension, absorption or regularization in NGRI/CSIR after the expiry / termination of Internship. During the Internship period, the Interns would be free to appear for NET/GATE and secure regular fellowship for doing Ph.D.
